The Impossibility of the Soul Given Evolution (Just a quick beginning)

The belief in an immortal soul is nothing more than the convergence of two core weaknesses of the human species; the fear of death and the desire to believe in our own privileged position in the universe. I suppose there is no revelation in attacking the existence of the soul, however most people seem to hold onto some remnant of the concept no matter how rational they are in the rest of their thought. It is my intention here to discuss the one of the many reasons to abandon the belief in the soul, not merely as outdated but as proven to be ridiculous and/or impossible. The starting point of my argument is the belief in Evolution. Those who deny Evolution will be un-swayed by my arguments but given their refusal to accept scientific evidence I can't be bothered with them.

The questions I will be asking of those who hold with the soul among many others as I get going will include: what has a soul what doesn't? Plants vs. Animals? One species vs. another? When and why did the soul evolve? These questions, I believe have no answers and without sufficient answers to such questions continued belief in the soul is untenable.
